Stool Nº1 is inspired by line drawings.

Almost a literal translation from the designer’s sketchbook to reality, the steel wire frame implies a continuous line bent into form.

A descendant of the hairpin.

Stool Nº1 is part of the lineage of the iconic "hairpin" design—a classic 20th century wire leg known for its straightforward aesthetic and visual lightness. Nº1 is made from 4 identical “legs” that are joined beneath the seat to create a continuous line.

Stool Nº1 was designed by Craighton Berman on the North side, CNC-bent and hand welded on the West side, powdercoated on the South side, and CNC-cut & hand-finished on the near Northwest side. Stool Nº1 is the proud product of Chicago manufacturing—the mix of machine-precision and hand-made quality will ensure years of durability for everyday use.
